Financial Health Academy Intensive: Strengthening Strategy & Sustainability (Session 2)

8 slots available

This intensive program emphasizes strategic financial analysis as a pathway to stronger organizational management, planning, and governance. Over two half-day sessions, nonprofit leaders will explore key elements of their business model, capital structure, and liquidity while practicing analytical tools and refining their financial storytelling techniques.

Participants will have the opportunity to apply these concepts directly to their own organizational data in a supportive learning environment. For those who prefer or require it, fictitious data samples will be available to ensure everyone can fully engage in the exercises and discussions.

In addition to the group sessions, a limited amount of complimentary individual and small-group coaching is available as part of the Academy’s resource offerings.

Audience Eligibility: Best suited for executive leaders, senior managers, and board officers with decision-making authority and/or financial management oversight responsibilities. This small-group format allows for meaningful exchange, personalized feedback, and applied learning tailored to your organization’s real-world context.

Session Dates:

  • November 13th
  • November 20th

Session 2:
Thursday, November 20 — Understanding Capital Structure

A healthy capital structure enables nonprofits to navigate uncertainty and plan for new opportunities. In this session, we’ll explore how different types of capital—working capital, reserves, debt, and equity-like investments—affect financial resilience. Leaders will gain tools to assess liquidity, understand funding risks, and develop strategies for long-term stability and accountability.
