June 2020

BNCEP Founded

Launched by Renee Hughes, Keisha Jordan, and Kelly Woodland to support Black nonprofit leaders during COVID-19 and social justice unrest.

2020–2021

Community Grows

Began as a virtual network, quickly grew to 65+ members with monthly guest speaker sessions addressing Black leadership challenges.
2022

Strategic Visioning

With support from United Way, BNCEP released Reflecting Forward, calling for trust-based philanthropy and deeper support for Black leaders.

2022–2024

Program Expansion

Launched executive coaching, leadership academies, CEO roundtables, and wellness retreats tailored to culturally competent leadership.
Today

Thriving Network

Now 260+ members strong, BNCEP remains a trusted space centered on connection, learning, and strengthening Black nonprofit leadership across Philadelphia.
